Coast(er) to Coast(er)

Wow...it's been a while..but little miss green things is so busy preparing for all her upcoming market days that blogging, sadly, shifted down on the priority list. But I thought I should at least post something ... just to prove that I'm still alive and kicking :-)

Well, every crafter probably tries to decoupage at least once in their lifetime...and I think I've reached that stage where I should at least try and test everything. I've actually managed to collect quite a bit of serviettes over the years - yes YEARS (I really don't like throwing anything away) :-) - and thought I might as well put them to use in some way or another. The end result was coasters...lots and lots of them. Bright, happy and VERY colourful coasters. I think they might even look good as little pieces of artworks in a collage on a wall :-)

Winter Warmness

In collaboration with my dear friend, Tina Matsimella, Little Miss Green Things has a new product ... perfect for the winter weather. Tina crochet the most beautiful berets with which I combine my own brooches as accessories ... 2-in-1 ... a funky beret for these winter days and a brooch ...that can be used on its own as well :-) Please contact me with regards to prices, orders etc. (See 'Blooming Berets' page). Happy green days!

Oh Snap!

I am so excited! Little Miss Green Things' flower brooches were part of some snapshots that were done for the fashion spread of the Top Billing Magazine's July Issue. The spread is dedicated to eco-friendly clothing and accessories. They're featured on page 35. You might need a magnifying glass, but two of them are proudly pinned to the model's jacket :-) Thank you to my stockist, The Love Project, for making it possible!

A new member to the green family!

I've experimented a bit with recycled tins in the last week...and this was one of the results... a 'blik-bangle' :-) It still needs a little bit of refinement, but the design and decoration possibilities are endless and I can't wait to experiment a bit more. These 'blik-bangles' will definately become a new member of my green product family :-)

Oodles of Doodles

We recently received our new telephone directories, meaning the old ones must go out. But I could not stand the thought of throwing it away ... all that paper! And I came to the conclusion that it actually makes up for cool graphics, therefore I covered my lever arch files with telephone directory pages !!! I obviously combined it with some illustrations (i call them doodles) of my own, done in gouache paint...and this was the result! I love it...and it actually inspired me to maybe, in the far future, do a kitchen/linen/stationery range with similar illustrations :-) What do you guys think?

To Bath or to Sit . . . that is the question

These bathtub couches are the coolest! They are made from vintage, cast iron tubs! These ones are sold at Reestore, a design outfit aiming to give new life to old, used objects . . . and proofs that recycling can defininately be stylish . . .
